About Apthorpe
Hi there we are the Brasseys of Apthorpe Farm, a small farm situated in the Darling Downs at a little town called Hampton, about 30Km North of Toowoomba in QLD. We originally came from Goondiwindi and have been here for nearly 2 years. Myself Leonie and my husband Hugh together with our 2 children Abigale 5 and Sam 18 months run a 30Acre Avocado and small crop farm enterprise. We have about 2000 avocado trees and we also grow some small crops. These consist of mainly Parsley which we sell to prepackers to go into major supermarkets and we have also grown zucchini in the past, however proved to be a tiring expedition and not much for it. However came up with a plan and we are now producing Apthorpe Farm Zucchini Relish which I make from all the bendy zucchinis that we cannot sell at market. This seems to be taking off at the moment which is a great diversification and also helps with my gourmet gift hamper business that I also run from our farm. I think in this day and age we have to steer clear of growing one crop to make ends meet. I hope you enjoy our website. Leonie Brassey
